Mesa Community College women's basketball player Bella Barrett is soaring to new heights following her time at Mesa, both on and off the court. After a successful season with the Thunderbirds, Barrett is set to continue her academic and athletic journey at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she will pursue a degree in Aeronautical Science with the goal of earning her commercial pilot's license.
Barrett played one season at MCC, where she made an immediate impact on the team. Averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, her all-around contributions helped power the Thunderbirds through a competitive season and an appearance at the 2025 NJCAA DII Women's Basketball National Championships.
At Embry-Riddle, Barrett will be joining one of the nation's top aviation programs while continuing to play at the collegiate level for the Eagles. The university, known worldwide for its cutting-edge research and excellence in aviation and aerospace, provides an ideal setting for Barrett's ambitious goals.
As she prepares for takeoff in this next chapter, the MCC community celebrates Barrett's achievements and looks forward to seeing how high she'll fly.
