NO. 13 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TAKES DOWN GLENDALE IN ACCAC ACTION

Mesa Community College continued its strong start to conference play with a 62–49 road win at Glendale, improving to 6–3 overall and 3–0 in ACCAC action.
The opening quarter was a defensive grind, with both teams struggling to find rhythm as Mesa held a slim 9–10 deficit after one. The Thunderbirds took control in the second quarter, limiting Glendale to just four points while scoring 19 of their own to carry a 28–14 lead into halftime.
Glendale responded with its best stretch in the third, outscoring MCC 21–19, but Mesa answered every push and entered the fourth quarter with a comfortable cushion. The T-Birds closed the game by holding Glendale to 30.8% shooting for the night and knocking down timely free throws to seal the conference road win.
Lakeisha Robinson led all scorers with 18 points, adding eight rebounds and going a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. Maddy Brown and Meisha Caserio each scored 10 points, while Sydnee Patterson chipped in nine with three assists. Amya Bekele anchored the glass with eight rebounds, helping Mesa win the rebounding battle 44–24.
Mesa also made the difference at the stripe, shooting 16-for-19 (84.2%) from the free-throw line, while Glendale went 10-for-17. The Thunderbirds forced 16 turnovers and converted them into steady scoring throughout the night.
