NO. 13 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROLLS PAST SOUTH MOUNTAIN ON WEDNESDAY

No. 13 Women's Basketball delivered a historic performance Wednesday night, defeating South Mountain Community College 104–24 behind a record tying night from guard Carmella Gallardo.

Gallardo erupted for 45 points and knocked down 11 three-pointers, tying the school record previously set by Annmarie Batista in 2023. She finished 17-of-24 from the field and 11-of-18 from deep to lead an offense that shot 41.7% from beyond the arc .

Mesa improved to 16-5 overall (10-2 ACCAC) play, racing out to a 27–6 first-quarter lead and dominating on both ends. The T-Birds forced 38 turnovers and turned them into 58 points while holding South Mountain to 22.6% shooting.

Maddy Brown added 16 points with four triples, Meisha Caserio tallied 10 points and seven assists, and Jordan Watts chipped in 10 off the bench. Mesa finished with 32 assists on 40 field goals and a season-high 25 steals.

The T-Birds return to the road next Wednesday to face Chandler-Gilbert Community College in ACCAC play.
