Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds women's soccer team secured a 3-2 victory Tuesday night against the Cochise Apaches.
The Apaches made it interesting late though as they had a heavy attack at goal in the final few minutes but Mesa prevailed to earn its second win of the season.
Rylee Rottweiler started the scoring with a first half goal at the five minute mark. Annabella Bara then connected on one of her two goals of the night in the 13th minute to give Mesa a 2-0 advantage.
Cochise scored a goal before half to make a 2-1 contest but shortly after halftime, Bara connected again for Mesa's third and final goal.
In the 84th minute, Cochise connected on its second goal, making things interesting for the final six minutes of play.
Mesa is now 2-4 on the season. The T-Birds will be on the road this weekend at Glendale.
