Mesa, AZ - The lady Thunderbirds officially clinched a playoff berth with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Gateway Geckos Tuesday afternoon.
With one match to play and currently sitting in the third ACCAC DII position, Mesa will be playoff bound.
Annabella Bara and Rylee Rottweiler once again took charge of the offensive attack for the T-Birds, as Bara scored the first goal of the match with Rottweiler scoring goal two in the second half.
Hope Ruiz anchored a solid defense, shutting out the Geckos in goal and securing Mesa's third shutout of the season.
The T-Birds are 7-6-2 on the regular season and 5-2-2 in conference play. Mesa plays one more regular season match at Chandler-Gilbert this coming Saturday at 5:30 pm.
Playoff schedules will not be finalized till this coming Saturday after all teams have played.
